Chocolate Orange Fondants

These delicious fondants have a white chocolate surprise in the middle! I’d go as far as saying these are the ULTIMATE Christmas dessert.

Ingredients

  • 10 g Butter
  • 2 tsp Cocoa powder
Fondants:
  • 100 g Terry’s chocolate orange dark
  • 100 g Butter
  • 100 g Caster sugar
  • 2 Medium eggs
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 100 g Plain flour
  • 4 Lindt white chocolate balls optional
To serve:
  • Icing sugar
  • Crème fraiche
  • Xmas decorations

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200C.
  • Grease some pudding moulds with butter, then dust with cocoa so that the inside is completely coated. Pop them in the fridge whilst you make the fondants.
  • Melt the chocolate orange and butter in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Once melted, take it off the heat and set aside.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl add the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks, and beat with an electric whisk until it’s pale, thick, and doubled in size.
  • Add in the plain flour and beat it in. Then pour in the melted chocolate and butter and stir until it’s fully combined.
  • Pour the batter into a jug for ease. Then divide the mixture between the four pudding moulds. If using the white chocolate balls, then fill two thirds of the way before popping the balls in the middle. Continue to fill until they are filled almost to the top.
  • You can keep these in the fridge for up to 3 days before cooking. Once you’re ready to cook them, bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove them from the oven and leave to stand for a minute or two before turning them out. Serve with crème fraiche and a dusting of icing sugar.
