Ingredients

For the meatballs:
  • 400 g Minced pork
  • 2 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 15 g Ginger grated
  • ½ Red onion finely diced
  • 4 Spring onions sliced thinly
For the sticky glaze:
  • 3 Cloves of garlic chopped
  • 15 g Ginger chopped
  • 1 Red chilli finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Honey
To serve: (optional)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 2 Spring onions sliced
  • 1 Red chilli sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180C.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add all the meatball ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Roll the mix into 10 equal sized meatballs.
  • In a large frying pan, heat some cooking oil over a medium to high heat and cook the meatballs until browned all over.
  • Transfer the meatballs to an oven proof dish and pop them into the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, make the sauce. Use the same pan to fry the garlic, ginger, and chilli over a medium heat for about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, and honey and stir well. Cook until it turns sticky.
  • Get the meatballs back into the pan, along with any juices, and coat in the sticky glaze.
  • Serve with rice, then sprinkle over sesame seeds, spring onions and sliced chilli. Enjoy.
