Ingredients
- 400 g Minced beef
- 250 g Minced pork
- 1 Onion diced
- 4 Cloves of garlic chopped
- 15 g Ginger chopped
- 1 Red Chilli sliced
- 1 tbsp Soft brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 80 g Romaine lettuce shredded
- 100 g Spring onions sliced
Instructions
- Heat a little oil in a large frying pan over a high heat. Add the minced beef and minced pork. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to break it up as much as possible.
- Cook the mince until it’s browned all over. Keep cooking it over a high heat, stirring occasionally until the meat starts to caramelise and there is no more liquid left.
- Remove it from the pan and set aside. Wipe the plan clean with a bit of paper towel.
- Heat a little oil over a medium to high heat. Add the diced onion and cook for a few minutes until it starts to soften.
- Add the garlic, ginger and chilli and cook for about 30 seconds before adding the sugar. Cook for another minute.
- Now get the minced meat back into the pan and stir well.
- Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, sweet chilli sauce and sesame oil.
- Cook for a minute, then turn off the heat and add the shredded lettuce and spring onion. Stir it through then dish it up with rice or noodles.

Quick, easy , low in calories & hubby loved it = win win.👌🏼
Easy to cook and very tasty. I substituted sherry for mirin, worked well.
