Heat the oven to 175℃
Peel and core the apples, cut into 1 cm wide chunks.. Toss in a bowl with the golden caster sugar and cinnamon.
Place the apples into an oven dish.
Flatten the apples down as much as possible to prevent the crumble mix falling though.
For the crumble, use the 'rubbing in' method to rub together the flour, butter and golden caster sugar until it resembles chunky breadcrumbs.
Pour the crumb mix over the apples, press down slightly with a fork.
Sprinkle with the rolled oats and the demerara sugar.
Bake in the oven for one hour.
Leave to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with ice cream or thick cream. Goes well with my Vodka + vanilla ice cream.
